Laura founded LS Flamenco in 2014 with the mission to bring joy into people´s lives through Flamenco dance. For two years, she was a finalist at the NYC Flamenco Competition, placing third while competing in 2016. She has performed at several venues in the US including the Bruno Walter Lincoln Center in NYC. She started her Flamenco and Spanish Dance training as a child in Cádiz, Spain and continued her professional training in Madrid joining the Dance Conservatory in 2008. There is a $10 application fee per submission. Proposed works/ideas must be brand new and never presented in any previous showcase or performance.Proposals will be accepted for any style of dance and works should be no more than 7 minutes in length.Choreographers may use their own dancers, or may select dancers from an Open Call Audition that will be held at OnStage.Each choreographer will be assigned a 2-hour time slot for eight weeks.(A curatorial team may also select one or more pieces to be re-staged for a formal concert at a later date.) The informal showcase will feature a pre-event reception and a post-show Q&A with the artists and audience. If selected for the program, choreographers will receive 16 hours of free rehearsal space at OnStage Dance Company, culminating in an In-Studio Showcase that is open to the public. The Program is designed for emerging or independent choreographers who do not have their own studio space in which to create new work.
